πŸ“– Definition

The duplicate option enables you to duplicate a campaign, that is to say copy its configuration into a new campaign, either by keeping the same type (identical duplication) or by changing it to a new type of campaign (duplication & transformation).

This prevents you from having to configure all steps of a campaign again.

 

βš™οΈ Configuration

This option is available from the test and personalization dashboards, for all campaigns that have been launched at least once (their current status can be live or paused).

To duplicate a campaign, apply the following steps:

 πŸ‘‰ Access the functionality: click > Duplicate:

The duplication popin displays.

πŸ‘‰ Choose your destination campaign type: you can choose to either keep the same type (identical duplication) or modify it (duplication & transformation).

πŸ‘‰ Select the content to duplicate: depending of you previous selection, you may have to select the Page/variation to duplicate.

πŸ‘‰ [Optional] Select the destination account: it can be the same one or another one you have access to. The list only displays accounts you have access to.

πŸ‘‰ [Optional] Enter a name for your duplicated campaign: by default, your campaign name has the following format: source campaign name (duplicate).

πŸ‘‰ Validate by clicking Duplicate: the duplicated campaign is displayed in its corresponding dashboard (test or personalization) and is paused by default.

🚩 Heads up

When duplicating a campaign that is currently in QA, the QA mode is automatically disabled, and the duplicated campaign is always paused by default.

Duplication/transformation rules

You can either duplicate your campaign to the same account or to another account.

Traffic allocation:

The percentage of traffic is adapted depending on the situation:

  • When identical duplication or from the same type of campaign: traffic allocation stays the same
  • From perso to test: traffic allocation is 50%
  • From test to perso: traffic allocation is 100%

Duplicating an A/B test

You have created an A/B test; you can duplicate it as a/an: 

  • AB test: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: number of variations, modifications, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.
  • Multipage test: to add page(s) to your test
    The duplicated test will integrate the original AB test as the first Page of your Multipage test. You must set-up at least the second Page of the generated test, which is empty. You will then be able to add and remove variations.
  • Simple personalization: to patch your website with a winning variation
    The duplicated personalization will be based on the variation of your AB Test chosen from the popin. It can be useful if you want to allocate 100% of the traffic to a winning variation without any risk of corrupting your test data and to make sure every single targeted user sees the new version of your website.
  • Multipage personalization: to create a personalized flow based on a winning variation of an AB test
    The duplicated personalization will be based on the variation of your AB Test chosen from the popin (as in the previous use case). But you will be able to take the user’s personalized experience further with at least a second Page to configure.

Duplicating a Multipage test

You have created a Multipage test; you can duplicate it as a/an: 

  • Multipages test: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: number of variations, modifications, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.
  • AB Test:
    The duplicated test will be based on a specific Page chosen from the popin. You will be able to add variations and to make all the necessary changes. It can be useful to transform a complicated multipage test into a simple AB test and to ease your analysis.
  • Multipage Personalization: to patch your website with a winning variation
    The duplicated personalization will be based on the variation of your MP Test chosen from the popin. It can be useful if you want to allocate 100% of the traffic to a winning variation without any risk of corrupting your test data and to make sure that every single targeted user sees the new version of your website.

Duplicating a Multivariate test

You have created a Multivariate test; you can duplicate it as a: 

  • Multivariate test: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: number of variations, number of modifications, number of generated combinations, modifications, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.

Duplicating a Simple personalization

You have created a Simple personalization campaign; you can duplicate it as a/an: 

  • AB Test: to challenge your message
    The duplicated test will enable you to challenge your personalization with the original version of your website and potentially other variations if needed. The test will have one unique variation natively, but you will be able to add more. Your modifications will be imported in the variation, such as the targeting set-up.
  • Simple personalization: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: modifications, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.
  • Multipage personalization: to create a personalized flow based on a first-page personalization
    The duplicated personalization will integrate the original personalization as the first Page of your Multipage personalization. You will need to set-up at least the second Page generated by default.

Duplicating a Multipage personalization

You have created a Multipage personalization campaign; you can duplicate it as a: 

  • Simple personalization: to keep only 1 Page from your Multipage personalization
    The duplicated personalization will be based on the Page chosen from the duplication popin: modifications, goals, traffic allocation and targeting set-up will be imported from the original campaign.
  • Multipage personalization: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: modifications, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.

Duplicating a Multi-experience personalization

You have created a Multi-experience personalization campaign; you can duplicate it as a: 

  • Multi-experience personalization: identical duplication
    The following aspects will be identical to the original test: modifications, number of experiences, goals, traffic allocation, targeting set-up.
