A heatmap is a map of the items on a web page that are most seen (via eye tracking) or most clicked on (via click tracking) by users. It shows a graphical representation of the items most looked at or clicked on in warm colours, and, in cold colours, the items least clicked on or looked at. |
In the Reports interface, you can see the heatmap based on your users’ clicks by clicking on the button Heatmap.
You can see the click zones on your original version and the variant via the colour spectrum: the warmer the colour, the more numerous the clicks.
For optimal display, you can set the heatmap’s opacity and density at the bottom of the window:
You can also filter by screen resolution:
Analysing a test’s heatmap can help you find elements that it would be relevant to test and find new test ideas to optimise your page.
