In AB Tasty, you can measure URL type objectives: the objective is considered met when the visitor consults a specific page of your site. This is generally a checkout confirmation page, a newsletter subscription confirmation page, or a form validation page.
To set up this type of objective, after you have created your test in the WYSIWYG editing interface, go to the report interface by clicking on the "Report" button in the Dashboard at the top right of the editor of the test you are interested in.
Click on the green "New objective" button that is at the top of the report. A new window will be displayed to allow you to configure your URL objective:
This window offers you three distinct options, in the form of tabs:
- Classic: allows you to define a "standard" URL objective.
- Tunnel: allows you to create a "Tunnel" type objective.
- Existing objective: allows you to select an objective already created in a previous test in order to save time.
Creating a "standard" URL objective
This is the default option. Give a descriptive name to your objective, and then in the "Condition 1" field, indicate the desired type of operator. You have the choice between:
- Regular expression
- Starts with
- Exactly matches
Then in the next field, indicate the URL format of the page to track. Click on the “Validate” button to create the objective.
You can also add other URL conditions by clicking on the "Add condition" button. You can then indicate a second URL format. This may be useful if you have several different URLs for the same action confirmation page. Important note: when you create several conditions, they are not cumulative: the objective is counted when the visitor meets the first OR the second condition.
Creating a Tunnel objective
In AB Tasty, you can also define "Tunnel" objectives to follow every step of your purchase tunnel’s conversion. See the article “How to read the results of a Tunnel test” to learn more.
To create this type of objective, select the "Tunnel" tab, then fill out the fields as you would for a standard URL, but add as many steps as necessary.
Using an existing objective
Activate this tab to display the list of objectives that have already been used in your account. Just click on the objective you are interested in and validate it to add it to your report automatically.
