Objective

The primary goal of this backup policy is to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the company’s critical data. The procedures outlined below aim to minimise the risk of data loss and guarantee business continuity.


Types of Critical Data to Be Backed Up

Critical data includes:

  • Databases containing essential information for the company.
  • The GitLab repository, a key asset for software development.

Backup Frequency

To meet availability requirements:

  • GitLab backups will be performed daily.
  • Database backups will be conducted more frequently, with backups scheduled every hour.

Backup Storage Location

All backups will be securely stored in Google Cloud, within the europe-west3 region.


Physical Security of Backup Media

The physical security of backup media is ensured by Google Cloud.


Backup Retention Criteria

Backups will be retained for a period of 30 days, balancing the need for historical versions and efficient storage management.


Regular Testing of Backup Restoration

Regular tests of the restoration process will be carried out to ensure recovery capabilities in case of a disaster. These tests will include the validation of recovery times.
