The indicators page (Library > Tracking > Indicators) enables you to view and manage all active and hidden indicators for your tests and personalizations.
It shows all the indicators you’ve set up, including their status and type. You can also use this page to create new indicators, edit existing ones, change campaigns for which they are available, hide indicators from the indicator setup step of your campaign creation flow, and delete indicators that are no longer relevant.
Setting up and managing indicators is an important part of running successful tests and personalization campaigns. By tracking the right indicators, you can gain valuable insights into user behavior and make data-driven decisions to improve your website’s performance.
All indicators categories
The page is divided into five sections, one for each type of indicator:
Action Tracking
These indicators track specific user actions on your website, such as clicks on buttons or links. They are useful for campaigns where you want to track interactions with specific elements on your website. You can create Action Tracking indicators from the visual editor step of the Campaign creation flow.
Page Tracking
These indicators track page views on your website. You can create Page tracking from the Indicators page.
Custom Tracking
These indicators track user actions you have defined and can be built in two different ways:
- With custom code on your website (please refer to How to create a Custom Tracking with custom Javascript code)
OR
- Via a DataLayer (please refer to How to create a Custom Tracking via the DataLayer)
They are useful for campaigns where you want to track custom interactions that aren't covered by the other indicator types.
Browsing metrics
These are indicators used to track and analyze users' browsing behavior on websites or applications. By default, AB Tasty provides three browsing indicators, including bounce rate, pages per session, and revisit rate, which can help understand user engagement and behavior on your website.
Transaction
These indicators track completed transactions on your website. They are useful for campaigns where you want to track revenue or conversions. You can only create Transaction indicators if you have installed a transaction tag on your website.
Each section displays the indicators of that type, along with their status and the number of campaigns they are associated with.
You can use the search bar at the top of the page to find specific indicators by name or ID.
Managing indicators
Creating indicators
While Page trackings and Custom trackings can be created from the Indicators page, Action trackings, Browsing Indicators, and Transactions can only be created from the visual editor.
